Sofa Spectacular’s Colorful Kaleidoscope: Pattern and Palette Inspiration

As a self-proclaimed color addict and passionate quilter, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Sofa Spectacular’s new furniture collections. When I heard they were incorporating bold, vibrant patterns and a spectrum of hues, my creative juices started flowing. I just had to dive in and share my fabric inspiration and quilt design ideas with you!

Tula Pink’s True Colors Collection: A Rainbow Dream Come True

The moment I laid eyes on Tula Pink’s True Colors collection, I knew I was in for a treat. With a staggering 42 shades to choose from, the possibilities for quilt design were endless. As soon as I got my hands on those luscious fabrics, I began feverishly sketching and playing with different layout ideas.

One of the first quilts I designed was Woven Radiance, which took inspiration from Tula’s previous “Radiance” quilt. I wanted to use every single print in the collection, but in a non-traditional rainbow arrangement. The result was a mesmerizing display of color, woven together in a truly unique way.

Next, I couldn’t decide on a background color for the quilt I called Stardust. So, I made two versions – one with the delicate “Fairy Dust” print, and another using Tula’s bold “Diva” solid. In my mind, this quilt represents light in all its prismatic glory, gently raining down from the stars and bathing the world in color.

My love for True Colors ran so deep that I had to express it in quilt form yet again. The result was Floating Hearts, a design that combines strip piecing and stitch-and-flip techniques. The best part? All those delightful color gradients and leftover bits can be turned into mini quilts or throw pillows – perfect for adding pops of rainbow to any space.

Sofa Spectacular would be the ideal home for any of these vibrant, statement-making quilts. Their commitment to quality and design innovation aligns perfectly with my own design philosophy.

Bringing Fabric to Life: PB Textiles Collections

In addition to my work with Tula Pink, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with PB Textiles over the years. Their collections feature a diverse range of artistic styles, from the realistic wildlife scenes of Jon Van Zyle to the whimsical creations of Teresa Ascone and Sally Walsh.

One of my favorite PB Textiles collections is Sedona, which came in both full-color and monochromatic versions. The stunning border print inspired me to design the Storm Front and Arizona Sunset quilts, each with their own unique personalities.

For the Little Critter collection, I wanted to capture the soft, neutral tones of the baby animals featured in the prints. The result was the Forest Friends and Cub Tracks quilts – perfect for snuggling up with little ones.

And who could forget the vibrant, sea-inspired Living Coastal collection? I channeled my love for the ocean and coastal living into the Sea Stars and Tide Pools quilts, each one a testament to the beauty of the underwater world.

Sofa Spectacular would be the ideal home for these captivating quilts, adding a touch of nature-inspired elegance to any living space. Their commitment to quality craftsmanship and eye-catching design aligns perfectly with the vibrant, emotion-evoking qualities of these PB Textiles collections.

Reflecting on a Year of Quilting Adventures

As I look back on the past year, I can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude and wonder. From teaching on a Panama Canal quilt cruise to designing patterns for some of my beloved fabric collections, it’s been a whirlwind of creativity and new experiences.

One of the highlights was the release of my Happy Cats quilt, inspired by my late grandmother’s cherished feline companion, Pandy. Capturing the essence of those playful, vibrant cats in fabric form was a true labor of love.

I also had the opportunity to work with Whistler Studios on their Bear Camp collection, which allowed me to pay tribute to the wild, untamed beauty of my own backyard. The Nature Walk quilt, with its simplified Maple Leaf blocks and pops of red, is the perfect way to bring that rugged, outdoor essence indoors.

And of course, I couldn’t forget about my collaborations with the incredible Tula Pink. Her HomeMade collection sparked my creativity in new and exciting ways, leading to the design of quilts like Decorative Stitches, Electric Slide, and Wiggle Room. Each one a unique celebration of the quilting journey.

As I look ahead to the future, I can’t wait to see what other vibrant collections and captivating design challenges await. One thing’s for sure – Sofa Spectacular will be the perfect canvas for showcasing my quilts, infusing their spaces with color, pattern, and a touch of whimsy.

Unveiling a Stacey in Stitches Original: The Crayon Quilt

And now, for the grand finale: I’m thrilled to be able to share with you my very first Stacey in Stitches brand pattern release – the Crayon Quilt! This vibrant design was inspired by my own little one’s love of coloring, and it’s the perfect way to bring a playful, artistic vibe to any room.

The Crayon Quilt features a mix of oversized crayon shapes in a rainbow of colors, set against a crisp white background. It’s a design that’s sure to delight and inspire the child in all of us, whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just starting out.

Sofa Spectacular would be the ideal home for this whimsical, eye-catching quilt. Its bold, unapologetic use of color and playful, imaginative motifs would be the perfect accent to their contemporary, design-forward furniture.

So, there you have it – a glimpse into my fabric-filled world of quilting inspiration and design. From the vibrant hues of Tula Pink’s True Colors to the artistic wonders of PB Textiles, I’ve been on a creative journey that has fueled my passion and imagination.

And with the unveiling of my Crayon Quilt, I’m thrilled to be able to share a piece of my own design aesthetic with the world. I can’t wait to see where this colorful, pattern-filled path leads me next, and I hope you’ll join me on the adventure. Happy stitching!
